An update and some great news!

Hello all!

It’s been a while since we’ve posted but we are back to it and excited to share some new posts soon. What’s to come, you ask?

Well, to start, life with three boys is busy! We wish we would’ve been able to blog and share photos from every session we photographed in the last several months, but since we wear many hats (our most important being our parent hat) we made the decision to limit our blog posts through these months to mainly weddings. This was a tough decision, but freed up a great amount of time that we’ve been able to devote to our busy kiddos. We have absolutely cherished that time. With that said, we will soon be posting large-scale posts with some of our most favorite and not-yet-shared-with-you-all photos from these past months. This will include baby, maternity, senior, engagement, and family photos… we are excited to share!

We will also be sharing a blog post with some of the photos and experiences from Cory’s mission trip to Puerto Vallarta. It was life changing, to say the least.

Thirdly, we are very much looking forward to updating our main website with new photos and portfolios! We’ve photographed so many awesome people since the last time we updated, so this is fun for us. Stay tuned!

One more thing — we have some exciting news! We were notified last month by that we are a “Best of Weddings 2012” winner. ย What does this mean, you ask? Well, first of all, we get to proudly display this pretty thing on our website/blog:

Also, because we don’t advertise with The Knot, we weren’t initially sure what this award meant, but after some clarification we found out that 24 photographers out of 810 wedding photographers in the state of Minnesota were chosen based on reviews given by clients. So, we want to give a big shout out to our amazing clients! Thanks for making it such an honor to do what we do. We truly love it and think each and every one of you is AWESOME.

Much love,

Tamrah and Cory

Congrats Cory & Tamrah! Great news. You deserve it!

Fall Mini-Sessions! (Update)

Hello all! After much thought, prayer, and conversation – Tamrah and I decided that I (Cory) will go toย Puerto Vallarta on the missions trip in January. I’ve never been on a trip like this and am SO excited for the experiences ahead!

As far as the mini-sessions go on October 8th, nothing there has changed one bit. Tamrah and I will both be out photographing the sessions, and all of the details remain exactly the same. Down below is a slightly altered promo for the shoot (notice where it says “Cory” instead of “Tamrah”… pretty clever huh?)

*Here’s the original post (written by Tamrah)*

So, guess what?!? No, I haven’t decided to give up coffee, silly. I’m going on a trip. A very special trip, in fact. I’m planning to head to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico this January. And no, it’s not to get a tan (as anyone who knows me knows, my skin doesn’t take too kindly to sunbathing).

Actually, I have the great opportunity to go on a missions trip! I get to spend time caring for the kiddos there, distributing shoes, showing love. And the best part? I get to take my camera, document the trip, and share it with the world. I get to go on this spectacular adventure with the purpose of using my camera to show what people are doing down there to help and love people.

When some people hear the words Puerto Vallarta, they almost instantly say, “Oh, my! It’s beautiful there! Such a great place to vacation!” And while I’m sure that’s true, as in any place that is beautiful and exotic and full of tourists, there are people who are not able to share in the wealth of a beautiful place like that. I get to be part of a group from my church who is going to go to share love with those less fortunate.

I plan to partner with a lovely vintage couch to raise funds for my trip to Mexico. How, you ask? Well, check this out:

And you, my friends, can be a family/couple/individual sitting upon a couch on a field. I’m truly excited for this opportunity. Not only can I raise money for this trip, but I get to do something I’ve always wanted to do: photograph sessions with a lovely, vintage couch in the middle of a big, open, gorgeous field. Not to mention conditions look promising for peak fall color.

Session slots will be available every 45 minutes and will be 30 minutes long. Sessions are $200.ย Normally, we don’t provide a CD of high resolution images with our sessions, but because of the nature of these sessions, they will be included in the session fee of $200. These high-resolution files can be used for Christmas cards, prints or any other personal use. {In case of rain, Saturday, October 15th is the back-up date}.

Email or call to set up your session time:

Gracias! Mucho amor, que Dios los bendiga!

We now interrupt your regularly scheduled programming to bring you a little taste of cake. And a taste of what we Ryans do in our spare time…

A little project we’ve been working on for our kitchen (picture 20×20 gallery wraps, lined up horizontally across our kitchen wall):

Hey Jude!

It’s been quite some time since our last blog post… having a baby will do that to you! We are having so much fun adjusting to being a family of 5.

Jude Arthur Ryan made his way into the world on Wednesday, November 25th at 4:01 a.m. He weighed in at a robust 9 lbs, 6 3/4 oz. and measured 21 inches long.

We photographed Mr. Jude over the course of a couple days. It is, after all, a bit of a challenge being mommy and daddy and the photographers at the same time. We had so much fun, and I think his brothers did too!

A few more shots of his proud big brothers:
