Capri — newborn

Capri was such an awesome little bundle! So sweet! Newborns are definitely one of my favorite subjects to photograph… their incredibly tiny fingernails, curled up legs, and mid-sleep smiles. Every baby is a wonder. It’s amazing to be able to freeze those details in a photograph!

Corey — 2011 Simley High School senior

Can you believe it’s almost April? Hard to believe high school senior season is at our doorstep! We’re really looking forward to photographing our 2012 seniors this year!

Corey’s session was in downtown St. Paul– we went to a few favorite spots and then ventured out and explored. We ended up photographing the end of his session after the sun set, which was fun, because we were able to pull in the glow of the city in some of the photos.

Henry – 6 months old

We photographed Henry’s parents back when they got married, and have been photographing Henry since he was born. What a handsome little guy! I love following the life of families as the seasons in their lives change… it’s wonderful to see. It definitely reminds me of the studio I worked for when I was a teenager… At the time the photographers I worked for had photographed my mom’s high school senior photos, my parent’s wedding photos, and then my own senior photos. Life is such a beautiful progression!

Daira and Brody — Engagement

So, we’re still revisiting some of our sessions from the late fall/winter, as we are continuing our return after a blogging-hiatus. Only in Minnesota can we have an amazingly warm fall, an extremely snowy winter and now a spring with a winter storm at the end of March (happening as we speak). This is one of the reasons I love to call Minnesota my home. Variety.

Daira and Brody’s session was on such a gorgeous fall day, it felt amazing to be outside. And what an energetic and fun couple! We spent our time walking around Dinkytown in Minneapolis and the University of Minnesota campus. Gorgeous!!

Sara and Al — Engagement

Sara and Al’s engagement session began in the morning, before the sun even started to rise. The morning light was beautiful and, as I’ve said before, is some of our favorite light to photograph in.

I really love how these guys laugh and play… they were full of fun and up for anything! We adventured all over the place, including Boom Island Park in Minneapolis. So fun! 🙂
